We’ve got you covered.

All our adventures are customized to each group of dogs. (We don’t schedule based on location)

We have a group that runs up the local mountains each morning and another group that just loves to play and play during their hike. We group buddies & besties together so they can socialize – it’s one big playdate! We have gentle trail hikes for the slower or injured pups. For our elder dogs with limited mobility need their own walk – we do that – we call it the “3 Amigos Walk”. Puppies need quite a bit of help getting ready for group walks – we do that too.

We do everything!

Simply put…

A happy dog needs friends, exercise and affection. Letting your pup explore and enjoy some fresh air is beneficial to them and you. A happy pup makes a happy home.

You can provide us with a copy of your keys/access codes or you may choose to place your key(s) in a secret predetermined location for us to access. Alternatively, you may arrange to be home when we pick up and drop off.

”Rain or Shine” our group hikes are always a full HOUR AND A HALF of trail time. For smaller or older dogs, this may be a slow wander on flat trails. For our more energetic dogs, it may be a trail run of 8km or even 10km. (Yes! Some of our walkers actually run the trails)

On average our hikes are about 5-6km. Our focus is fun but all our walks include teaching on and off-leash manners. You decide how much or how little. NSDW offers a full “pick up and drop off” service so the total time is varied. We have well-ventilated and safe vehicles and are able to separate dogs for transport if necessary.

We just couldn’t help ourselves- we couldn’t leave an inch of the North Shore untouched. We pick dogs up from houses, apartments, offices, boats and gardens all over the Shore. We have door-to-door service from Horseshoe Bay to Deep Cove and from the shoreline to the mountaintop!

We take a maximum of six, off-leash dogs, for hikes high in the North Shore mountains along designated commercial forest, river and beach trails. The dogs have a great time running and playing with each other frequently getting very wet and muddy and having tons of active fun.

Some dogs live for the dog park! And if the group is appropriate you may find us there with our Young at Heart dogs taking advantage of the flat trails and access to water – but all the rest of our hikes take place in the mountains, miles above the city.

We’ve never met a dog that isn’t waiting at the door wagging its tail with a smile on its face when our dog walkers come to pick them up! They love their walks, dog park adventures or hikes. Dogs crave social interaction and exercise and they love their time outside.

We handle every type of dog personality imaginable. From the playful ones who make the park trails world go ‘round, to the formerly abused ones who need just a little extra TLC, the brand new babies whose development we’re so proud to be a part of and the challenging and temperamental ones who always keep us on our toes. We never go a day without learning something about ourselves or them. We have a 13-step screening process to keep our groups safe and we offer private walks for dogs who need a little attention before joining our group hikes.

We take up to 6 in our groups, less if we have any dogs staying on leash or dogs needing special attention and more dog-to-walker bonding time.

Vancouverites live crazy lives! We figure our job lends our days to be a little less hectic than yours so we pride ourselves on our flexibility and try not to be too sticky about cancellations. 3.30 pm the day before is our cut-off time.

Back to our flexibility pride! Ashley, our scheduling angel will do whatever is heavenly possible to get your pup out at short notice. If that’s not possible one of us should be able to stop by the house for a relief break or a short private walk.

Each of our walkers is fully bonded, insured and covered by WCB. We also carry heavy 3rd party liability. Just ask if you have specific questions.

Depends on you and your dog. We like to mix it up a bit so your dog is stimulated by different trails and has fun with different leaders, but some dogs (and clients) are more comfortable with a primary walker and a couple of backups.

So glad you asked! All of our two-legged clients complete a Walk with Friends certification. You will receive constant feedback from the walker and our office as we guide your pup through the first 10 group walks monitoring and evaluating his or her on-leash etiquette, off-leash recall, safe play and much more.

Our goal is to build a long-term relationship with your dog based on mutual trust, respect and love. Our walkers use positive reinforcement leash etiquette and basic dog training skills. We believe in doggy manners and practice them with your dogs while they’re in our care. We never ever ever use chain, prong or shock collars with our pups.

We won’t judge you or your dog’s little quirks. In most cases, our kind and consistent positive reinforcement are all your pup will need to maintain good trail manners. However, if you’ve got a naughty one who needs a little extra help, we work with one of the best trainers ever and she lives right here in North Vancouver.

We’ve got it covered. Licences, permits, pet first aid, insurance, doggy-approved transportation.
